HostSlim OÜ Strengthens Global Network Performance With Addition of Cogent to Its IP Transit Mix

Tallinn, Estonia – 11 november 2025

HostSlim OÜ, a leading European hosting and infrastructure provider, proudly announces the integration of Cogent Communications, one of the world’s largest Tier-1 Internet Service Providers, into its IP transit mix. The addition significantly enhances global connectivity, reduces latency, and boosts bandwidth reliability across HostSlim’s data center locations in Amsterdam, Netherlands and Tallinn, Estonia.

As demand for high-performance hosting increases globally, HostSlim continues to invest heavily in premium network partners to ensure customers experience faster, more stable, and more resilient connectivity. Cogent’s presence strengthens HostSlim OÜ’s multi-carrier blend, which already includes several top-tier transit and peering partners.

A Major Step Forward for Latency-Sensitive Workloads

By incorporating Cogent’s global backbone—spanning over 3,300+ on-net buildings and 1,500+ carrier-neutral data centers, HostSlim OÜ can now deliver:

  • Lower global latency, especially toward North America, Western Europe, and Eastern Europe

  • Shorter routing paths and reduced congestion through diversified Tier-1 connectivity

  • Increased network redundancy and failover capacity

  • Higher throughput and more stable packet delivery for enterprise workloads

Whether customers rely on HostSlim for virtualization, bare-metal servers, CDN workloads, SaaS platforms, or gaming infrastructure, the improved routing mix ensures smoother and faster performance around the world.

Case Study: Global Latency Improvements After Adding Cogent

Following the integration, HostSlim conducted extensive real-world latency testing across key global regions using both ICMP and TCP-based probes. Measurements were compared between the previous blended mix and the upgraded blend including Cogent.

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (AMS-DC1)

Key Results:

  • North America (US East)
Latency reduced from an average of 84 ms ? 70 ms (-17%).

  • Southern Europe (Italy, Spain)
Average latency reduced from 34 ms ? 24 ms (-29%).

  • UK & Ireland
Average latency improved from 12 ms ? 8 ms (-33%).

Location: Tallinn, Estonia (TLL-DC1)

Key Results:

  • Western Europe
    Latency dropped from 39 ms ? 25 ms (-36%).

  • Nordics (Finland, Sweden, Norway)
Average latency improved from 9 ms ? 5 ms (-44%).

  • Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong)
Latency lowered from 201 ms ? 182 ms (-9%) thanks to improved Tier-1 handoffs.

These reductions directly enhance the experience for hosting customers in the Baltics, Northern Europe, and global regions relying on low-latency performance.

Commitment to Continuous Expansion

“Adding Cogent is another milestone in our mission to build one of the fastest, most reliable hosting networks in Europe,” said Ralph Karseboom, CEO of HostSlim OÜ. “Our customers rely on us for uncompromising performance, and this integration demonstrates our ongoing commitment to network excellence.”

HostSlim OÜ plans additional upgrades this year, including expanded peering at major IXPs, further transit diversification, and new regional POPs to continue optimizing global routing for its customers.
